We Are "Us"
In 2015, PEER Wellness Center became Idaho's very first (and largest) Recovery Community Center.
As part of the growing nation-wide "Recovery Advocacy Movement", our independent grass-roots organization is led, governed and operated exclusively by people in recovery for people in recovery. We acknowledge, support and celebrate all forms of recovery and are responsible only to our collective recovery community.
By our very existance we provide hope and living proof that recovery IS possible.
Our Vision
The vision of PEER Wellness Center is to create a culture of wellness and positivity that supports long-term recovery for those who face challenges from substance use and/or mental health disorders.

Our Mission
The mission of PEER Wellness Center is to put a positive face on recovery and reduce the impact of substance use and/or co-occurring mental health disorders in our communities.
We accomplish this by:

cultivating an environment of acceptance and inclusion

by linking peers to existing community resources
-
by utilizing the success, skills, and support of staff and volunteers who have lived experience with substance use and/or mental health disorders to deliver peer-led and peer-delivered services, and
-
by being an advocate in our community that educates and reduces the stigma surrounding mental health and substance use issues.

Code of Ethics, Code of Conduct & Grievance Policy
PEER Wellness Center is committed to providing high-quality, evidence based recovery support. To ensure that our services align with SAMHSA's
Guiding Principles of Recovery and to adhere to the National Standards of a Recovery Community Center, as defined by Faces & Voices of Recovery (FAVOR) this center operates under the ethical standards established in the NAADAC Code of Ethics, with strict adherence to Section X (Peer Support Ethics) and Section XI (Organizational Ethics). This code serves as the foundation for the standards that we hold our staff/volunteers to and guides our organizational accountability.
Participant & Community Grievance Policy
PEER Wellness Center is accountable to the community that we serve. If you feel you have been treated unfairly, or that our services have caused actual or perceived harm, please let us know so that we can address your concerns. This policy applies to all participants, family members, visitors, and community partners interacting with our center, staff, or volunteers.
*Filing a grievance will never impact your ability to receive support at our center. Ever.
Code of Conduct
To ensure our community center remains a welcoming, safe, and inclusive space for everyone, the "PEER Community" has created a shared Code of Conduct. We ask that all staff, volunteers, participants, and visitors honor these guidelines whenever they are at the center or connecting with us at community events.
